If you have recently played Call of Duty 4 or Modern Warfare 2, you might have run into many hacked lobbies. Infinity Ward is now addressing the issue. Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling on a recent One of Swords podcast, shed some light on the hacks and exploits in MW2 and CoD 4. In response to a question on if Infinity Ward is working patches for the aforementioned games, Robert said: "We (Infinity Ward) are (addressing the hacks and exploits). We are not looking at rebalancing things, so you're not going to see OMA (One Man Army) being removed from MW2, although it is removed from MW3. But, we're looking at things, like security things of like how can we address hacking on Call of Duty 4? And, we've been already doing updates on MW2 to address hacking, and basically once we get MW2 on lockdown, then the guys who have the ability to focus on even further legacy things, (such as) how can we lockdown things on CoD 4. Actually, we just did on PC a Linux patch." He went to explain that Infinity Ward's primary focus is, obviously, Modern Warfare 3, then MW2 and CoD 4 (respectively).

Infinity Ward don't even update the Message of The Day in COD4, it still says something like, Check out the new Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay Trailer...
Highly doubt they will be able to patch anything, since we can just edit the patch they release :L
It don't matter now anyway, the damage is done and hardly no one plays this game any more. They should have done this as soon as all the hacks surfaced, It's like sony trying to patch the hacks on PS2. There's just no point now, if you want to play MW2 or COD4 you're going to have to play on PC or XBOX.
