I had a loud ps3 ( Like level 5 ) and wanted to fix it. I found this video and followes it step by step.



I now have new thermal paste on the processors.

After 15 minutes of playing Black Ops i have a much louder ps3 as before!! ( 2 levels higher than before )

If anyone wants to help me to get a noise level of 3-4, i will give him all my vbux.

Things i have tried:

- Put cubes under my ps3
- cleaned from dust inside and outside

Thank you very much!! Kept the ps3 in a place where it was 10 degrees celsius and it wasn't loud for 5 hours of playing black ops after that it was loud again, so i will keep the ps3 10 degrees celsius when i'mnot playing and it will stay quiet.

Maybe buy a usb cooler (if you have a fat model), it's only $20 I think.

IMO .. I fix ylod PS3's alot , have fixed 5 - 7.. And this has happened many a time... Its because you diddn't put it back together right, missed a few screws etc..

So I reccomend you re-open it and try put in a few more screws around the fan especially

My PS3 had that same problem, I fixed it with a chainsaw
