(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Everybody has their opinions on when they think the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will get their successors. The predicitions have become even more numerous now that Nintendo has already unveiled the Wii U.

Sony, for its part, has constantly been emphasizing that it's not yet the right time for a PlayStation 4. According to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, that time will come when developers can no longer squeeze anything extra from the PS3.

"Looking at the platform cycle, when the platform becomes something game developers are not able to improve their creations with, that's the time we have to really seriously consider shifting to the next generation," Yoshida told gaming news site Eurogamer.

"So as long as we and our developers can create new experiences that are more exciting to consumers, I see no need to transition into newer generation," he explained. "As far as we are concerned, we have no desire now to do that [release a new home console]."

We've heard mixed reactions from developers and publishers to the advent of a new PlayStation home console, with some supporting Sony's "it's not yet time" stance while others are complaining about the lack of RAM in the PS3. With the PS3's sales going strong thanks to the recent price cut, it really might be a while before we even hear of anything concrete about the next Sony console.

Idk I bet Killzone 3 comes pretty close to pushing the ps3 to the limit. If not I bet Uncharted 3 will.

I don't see a need for the ps4 either. They should revamp the 3 like someone already said and add in wireless N , More ram ,and bigger hard drives.

I think most of the ps3 owners don't think that a ps4 is required.

I mean, what could you add to the PS3? All it would be is smaller and maybe faster.

there is no need for a ps4 most owners of a ps3 are still enjoying it. new titles coming out and more. its not old or outdated its a semi new console with a lot to offer . ps3 users probably have a few more years before it starts to slow down and anticipation for a new console kicks in
