Bad news, Bayonetta fans. The stylishly over-the-top action game from Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya isn't getting a sequel announcement, after all. So says Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba.
Rumors of the Bayonetta sequel's impending announcement were fanned by none other than Kamiya himself, who teased over Twitter that something was coming "this week... in a game magazine." This week's crop of new Japanese gaming mag issues have already dropped but there was nothing about Bayonetta 2 in them.
Inaba, meanwhile, has put up his own tweet in response to Kamiya's: "There is no such thing!" This after actually investigating where the rumors came from. Inaba then warned gamers who follow Kamiya on Twitter that the latter sometimes just jokes around too much.

Kamiya had previously hinted that he wanted to see Bayonetta's fellow Umbra Witch Jeanne get her own spinoff game.
