(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); ok my friend has a 60 gig ps3 and it has the YLOD. we are going to fix it up but i want to know what is the best thermal paste to buy on the market. is it the gold stuff or arctic silver 5? just wondering and any advice would be appreciated.

Arctic silver 5 IMO, that's what i have used multiple times and it alway's does the job

Artic Silver 5 works but it can break your console since its conductive, Mx-4 works best for consoles.

Also try replacing the thermal pads, this was my problem when I replaced the thermal paste several times. My fan ran quieter after replacing them. Try getting 2mm thick thermal pads. 1.5mm is the thinnest I'd go.
