It is hardware that you must buy. If you don't know anything about it, it's not something for you.

it allows read/write access to the nands/nor chips on the ps3. (where the firmware is stored) allows downgrade etc, not really an easy feat if unsure of its features,

if its lower firmware your after your best picking up a cheap ylod with the relevant firmware.

this certain device requires soldering, and comes with high risk of killing your ps3 if installed incorrectly.

You'd know all about that lol.
