(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Is it ok to put a 40gb ps3 models fan (19 bladed) into a ps3 60gb console? backwards compatible?

My old 60gb console sounds like an aeroplane about to take off and was told a 19 blade fan instead of the 15 blade one, would aid in airflow and sound..

But would the 40gb fan fit it?

Im not sure an 80gb version would.

Anyways any help appreciated.

got to have a 'cool' running ps3 for MW3 if you get what im saying... Dnt want tht sh** to be braking down on me..

there is no problem,change the fans,but the reason the PS3 is doing a lot of noise its cause the thermal paste is dry and needs replacement

its possible and no a 40 gb fan is way different

Have you pulled apart a 40gb console and 60gb console?

The fans use the same plug in pretty much the same location, and the actual fan (not including the heat sink) is held in by 3 screws. Just take out and replace. I have a 40gb dismantled right now if pictures help?

okay then yh the fans are the same but yh try the fan out first could be ur barrings

I've changed both 60 and 80 gig to a 19 blade fits perfect
