Sony wants ****ing 130$ to fix, 100$ to replace, or I can go with GameStop who want 40$ to replace it since I have warranty with them.

Should I downgrade to like 3.72 and try it first?

You can't downgrade to 3.72 and the mw3 lag has nothing to do with the ps3s fw..

Whats the lowest I can downgrade to while still being able to play online?

No what I am saying is that you cannot downgrade a ps3 past the fw 3.56 ..And did it force you to update to 3.73 I haven't had to do it yet ..so I don't know

Okay, so I guess I'm screwed on that part.

and no, I unfortunately just went to check for updates and I swear as I updated I was saying "God...I love Sony. They're so honest and legit and they are constantly making good updates for PS3." And then it stops working, I call Sony, and first thing they ask me is for $100+ to fix it.

How old is your PS3? cause my blu-ray went this year they wanted £120 and i got it fixed for £20 buy buying the Blu-Ray innards, took like 20 mins to fit aswell

I bought it from GameStop refurbished not more than a year ago, but it's those A01 models with 60GB harddrive and backwards compatible.

It's also not just my blu-ray, it's DVDs and CDs too. I put them in and its as if they're completely ignored by the system.

Can't downgrade kay: And your issue prob happened to playing to much or Old PS3. This didn't happen to me when i upgraded. But your game freezing over and over again might have.

Ever heard of a E3 Flasher? Well that downgrades all FW so 3.72 and 3.73. Plus they work on all Slims but not sure about Fats.



Ahh OK your best option if you still have warranty with Gamestop then take it back and get it repaired cheaper, than sony. As i said you could change it yourself but then taking the risk it might not be the Blu-Ray drive innards
