Ok I bought this to try to fix it............... as you can see the Controller will not connect.......... but when I turn the PS3 off the 4 flashing controller lights that are blinking turn off as well? Next to the green light I dont see a blue light at all. Other videos I have seen had that light blinking. Any help would be awesome. Thank you

In the back of the controller there is a little button. Grab a pen and press that button for 5-10 seconds hopefully it will connect

I tried the reset.... not a thing, thanks though. Sony said it's the usb that needs replaced and to send it in. $129 to fix. Does it matter it has been opened up? Also do they make the firmware current? I bought this hoping I could fix it and it be on a lower firmware........ Not sure what to do

Ok I found the problem I believe......... Some chip GL852 tiny 48 pin chip for the USB's. There was a sign of liquid damage and a few of the pins are corroded away from the motherboard. So I found one on eBay and I'm still waiting for it to come from HK. The only problem its tiny and the pins are very very small. Never done any soldering really before so Im not sure if it's even do able...........

No not yet. I have to somehow replace this chip and that I believe is the fix. Can I just heat it up with a heat up? The pins are so tiny.........

Soldering for you first time can be very difficult i would suggest buying some cheap wire and practice on that because i have messed up many controllers with solder
