(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so i recently broke the clip on my motherboard that connects the bluray data cable, i wedged a piece of thin card in there to act as a clip to keep it in place for now but it does come loose quite often, so i was wondering if i buy a replacement motherboard for my ps3 would it be on old firmware/factory firmware? would i need to get a brand new hdd instead of using the current one i have for it?

Would be good if it was old/factory firmware :P

I did this on one before I was fixing yes its a pain in the ass to sort out but if you still have the little black piece then you can do it.

All I did was push the clip back on you can feel it clip back in but obvs without pressure it pulls back up so simply put some good electrical tape over the top what I did also was put a bit of super glue under the tape.

That ps3 is still running after a year and a bit not come loose once.

Yeh i might try with some hot glue but it would kill 2 birds with 1 stone if i got another motherboard, i'd have a working clip + a ps3 on old firmware (If it was stripped before 3.55)
