I was playing mw3 today, played for like 1 hour and then my ps3 started to make a noise similar to a jet. So I panicked and turned it off. The ps3 is a 320 gb slim, and the desk it's on collects a fair bit of dust. And until this week I hadnt played it much since like a month.

What could this be, and how could I fix it?

well did it do it after you turned it off? Most likely it just became overheated, so the it went into panic mode and kicked the fan into over drive. This same thing happened to my phat 3.55 ps3. I turned it off and havent had any problems since. Just make sure you try to keep it in a well ventelated area, and try not to have it on a surface like carpet. If you want to be extra safe you could even get a mini fan make it blow on it. So there ya go negro.
