no as it flashed to the nand/nor
u will tho lose all your pkgs that u installed and any games u may have on the hdd as it wipes the hard drive to factory settings

The 4.00 update should only be noticed by your Ps3 if you have it connected to the internet when restoring. So make sure to disable the internet connection or unplug the Ethernet cord :y:
