Post: Horrible ps3 connection help

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys,

So, my ps3 lags constantly while I'm trying to play online....... I have DSL, AT&T and a NETGEAR Wireless-G router... I have looked all over the place to diagnose my problems but I feel that this is the best way to do so. The story is as follows: My ps3 connection is always horrible, nonetheless, but when I want to play Call of Duty: World at War, the connection is utterly pittiful. The only time that my connection is reasonable is when my brother isn't on his xBox 360 and nobody else is on the internet but my ps3. My dad says that we are just on the border-line of bieng able to get the DSL because our neighbors across the street can't get it. I have tried various things to make my connection better such as port forwarding/ triggering the CoSad Awesome WaW servers to my router... nothing has shown any results and I'm really starting to get ticked. I give my thanks to anyone who can provide any info. and am open to any answers. But keep in mind that my family is on a very tight budget... still give me any answers that anyone can think of, please.

sincerely,
HeartofaSpartan

P.S. My connection is getting worse by the minute, it seems like.... lol

Dude I have this problem so I changed to an ethernet cable and it was fine for a BIT until peak times(4 till 9 or 10) Because they drop your connection so that when everyone comes home from work they will have good internet connection and because thats when most people are online.

I know but do I need to switch Internet Services to AT&T or something like that... I could run it by my parents if that's what the problem is. Then again, my router is kinda old too. Could my problem just be a bad router?

The problem could be a bad router but its probably where your house is thats the main problem, as youve said the house across the street doesnt get it. I would suggest ringing up a few ISPs and checking out if they can help you. Im from ireland so i can really help you on that. Hope this helps

I used to lag all the time with my old router. It usually took me at least one minute sometimes two to three to connect to a match on COD once the map loading screen came up. I got a new router and it barely takes five seconds. The router i got is a Belkin N+ wireless router. Im lag free on my PS3 with 6 computers and a wireless printer as well as my PS3. The router is $80 in case you were interested. You must login or register to view this content. Theres a link to the router check it out.

Well I don't think its the router because I have an old one too, but I always have perfect connection, and I'm host almost all the time.
EDIT: My dad's job is all with computers, and he works at home, so maybe we have a really good connection because he need one for work, so never mind.
