I have a simple question for you today. I found a guy that is selling a PS3 that is on 3.55 but it does not come with a Bluray Drive. I plan on jailbreaking the PS3 and just using it to play downloaded games so will I need a Bluray Drive to do this? I don't think I would but I saw one guy say some games require a disk to be in the drive in order to work. Is this true?

I don't think so, but then again my PS3 collects dust, so, yeah.... The guy may be referring to a swap-top PS2.

Well no you don't need a Blu-Ray drive but you do need the PKG's of the games you want to mod :y:

no cause it isn't using the blueray drive it is just read straight off the harddrive, or are u using disks?

well if you want to back up the games on the internal hard drive then yes you need it, also when updating you need it unless u have a bdb (bluray drive bypass) fw. another thing some games require a disk in the drive in order to start

I have the samething, my fat ps3 on 3.55 has no blu-ray drive.. It works fine, you just need BDB, and all the game PKGs
