This has been changing quite frequently to ‘On’ and then it’ll go back to ‘Down status’. It seems Sony is having some problems with PSN.
There wasn't any prior announcement of maintenance planned or any type of update. Whether or not Sony is preparing for some online surprises via PSN for GameCom isn’t known, but this down time was unexpected.
With the state of PSN changing sporadically, it'll be in your best interest to see how PSN is working for yourself. It may not be having this effect for all users.
