I just got home about 30minutes ago because I am on my 2hour break from college and I go to start up my PS3 like I normally do. This time however, I started it up, chose the User I wanted to sign into, and all of the sudden this like 80s-90s rap beat starts playing out of nowhere.

Now of course I'm gonna dig it because I like rap:dance:

But to make sure nothing else was causing this, I changed channel, turned off TV, and muted. After all that it played for a little bit longer and then it stopped. I then thought my avatar caused it because I have the Funky Lab Rat Avatar but I guess that wasn't it either.

My final conclusion was it may have been some sort of sequence you enter randomly with the control or a new feature with the current firmware.

I wanted to know what caused my PS3 to play this beat because I actually enjoy logging on to a good ol' instrumental to the music genre I like.

The only possible explanation is that the bootup was modified. I can't think of anything else.

My boot has never been modified at all. I originally bought this PS3 from eBay last summer and the firmware was 1.92 OFW. I then did the Geohot CFW 3.55 and then got what I wanted from it. Finally, I updated to OFW. I have never modified the bootup at all.

I wish I could listen to it again because it was tight. I tried turning my PS3 off and turning it back on thinking it might do it again, but it didn't.

Properly timed cell phone ring perhaps?

Unless the coldboot files have been modified it cannot boot to anything else.
