Does it make a beeping sound and show a yellow light when you turn it on? you may have ylod.

Sounds to me like your power supply just crapped out.......

It may be the power cord.....hopefully it is just that and not the power supply because it would be a lot cheaper that way. Good luck and I hope that a new chord works but if not then still getting a new power supply is cheaper than buying a new PS3.
