Due to the popularity of video games involving sports, especially boxing, having it's own unique fan base, Fight Night Champion was a big hit, and supporters of the Fight Night franchise are begging for more, however EA Sports has announced that there will not be a new title in this year of 2012.
GameInformer has contacted EA Sports themselves, informing the ones wondering that the franchise is still alive and well, however nothing will be released soon. Here's what they said:

Fight Night Champion released last March in 2011, which was given to us two years after Fight Night Round 4 came out. All of the major fans of this title aren't exactly disappointed that the game isn't being brought to stores soon, but they're still hyped that the game will most likely be just as good as all of the other ones.[/color]
