I'd only be using it for hacking so if it doesn't have a dvd player can I still use it to hack?

i would assume that they mean it somehow doesn't have a blu-ray drive but will still fire up and work for hacks (like ftp , packages) , the only thing it can't do is play dvds or games , but as its jailbroken you can put both of them on the harddrive and play them from there.hope this helped

Most likely a hacker won't refer to it as a DVD drive. They should refer to it as a Blu-Ray, but hey that would be
just my opinion. Just be wary if it is actually jailbroken and your not being scammed.

But as the user above me said, its most likely fine, and you can just put games on the HDD and play from there.

Actually ps3's that don't have a blu-ray or its busted, you can't always use the homebrew apps or ftp to hack. You can still install pkgs though.

Everything will still work on the PS3, but you want be able to insert and play on discs, if you don't care about that, then enjoy the PS3 =D
