I recommend reading this You must login or register to view this content.

As of right now, a jailbreak is in the works (and that blog is from November of last year), if we go by his words. However, he is a much respected member
of the PS3 hacking community, so his word is good. If you want my opinion, I believe there will be one. It could be weeks or even months before we see it though.
And don't expect a CFW either, because if you read the article thoroughly, he explains that it will solely be for running homebrew apps. No backing up games, or anything
like that.

Hope this helps or gives you a little insight Smile

It may happen again, but I doubt it will ever be released because of legal issues it will cause for that person.

I think its stupid how Sony wants to sue all the hackers. If the iPhone jailbreak was made legal why couldn't it be the same for the ps3? If you own something you should be able to do whatever you want with it, and if they promise some features like Other OS they shouldn't have the power to take it away.

Thanks yea that help out a lot and i've heard of him but never used his jailbreak, if he is able to hack it hopefully it opens doors to other hackers to make the CFW and copy games. But with Sony updating it worries me that the jailbreak wont work. Anyways thanks

The one Kakarotos is currently working on will be legal because he does not promote piracy, and his jailbreak he is working on won't have the ability
(nor could it have the capability) of having a CFW to play pirated games.

It will happen again, but won't be released to the public and abused like it was last year, most of the devs will keep it to themselves.
