(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys if you can help me with my ps3 it would be so awsome! So basically heres whats going on.. If i leave my ps3 off for a couple days and then turn it on there is nothing wrong with it and i can play it for about 15 min. And then after 15 min out of nowhere the screen freezes and all these squares and lines come up on the screen. Its like this video:

What should i do to fix this? I was hoping for a fix i can do at home. I dont mind opening up the ps3 to fix it. The last thing i want to do is pay 150$ to get it fixed from sony. How can i fix this my self? What is wrong with it? Btw my ps3 is updated and everything. Also i have an original 60gb backwards compatible ps3. Oh yea also its not my tv i tried it on 3 other tvs. Also i forgot to add. After that happens i have to turn it off manually from the back switch. After i turn it on again the weird screen thing happens within a minute or even immediately.
Let me know what i should do. Thanks guys.

First off, you're going to need some new heat compound, a couple tools, and patience.

Next, follow this tutorial:

If you have any more questions, let me know. I've taken apart and fixed several PS3's and Xbox's Smile

I highly doubt that a firmware update caused this to happen. Sony goes through strict testing procedures to ensure this
doesn't happen. Especially with a mandatory update such as 4.00. It was possibly just coincidence that this occurred after you updated.
