yes
I have some great Youtube Links that I recently used to help take my PS3 apart, fix problem, then re-assemble.

If you don't have a heat gun, a Hair Blow Dryer works as I did it with 1

You can also try using my [buried amongst the forum] tut on the YLoD Oven Fix if you do not have a heat gun. There is also a list of successful users.

You probably just loaded a game out of multiman and didn't get but a few minutes past turning it on and the BAM, it shut off. (As long as you didn't hear a Pop sound your good, thats your power supply)

Ok there are 3 possible issues.
the 1st issue could be the Hard Drive. Try re-seating it or try another if you have one on had (you can even try it with out an HDD in there and see if the yellow light is gone).

The 2nd and most popular reason is that the chipset's (CPU, RAM, or GPU) have burned out to an extent to where the system needs to be re-flowed. I.e. reheating the heatsinks and cleaning the dust out of the system. I would bring it to a professional that charges anywhere from 60-90$ for the process and a warranty. Trust me, this is your best alternative. I do this for a living and when you do the hair drying method you run the risk of multiple problems later on. If you use the heat gun method you run the risk of ruining the chips (though 60-70% of the technicians use digital heat guns and know what they are doing). Usually when you use a heat gun you are using WAY to much heat than is recommended by these youtube guys.

The 3rd is an actual problem with the motherboard itself. I am not going to delve into this but this usually is not the case (unless your really unlucky).

So I recommend just taking it to a professional if you are not proficient with electronics.

Hope this helps.

I would not follow youtube for this issue. I would only watch those videos to give you an understanding.

The reason I also said to bring it to a professional is if you are enjoying a CFW with 3.55 and you are under warranty, sending it off to $ony will usually get you a system with a newer firmware and your info wiped.
