Gamers are used to expensive special editions but the Resident Evil 6 Premium Edition may be the most excessive yet, with the currently Japanese-only set available for a pre-order price of 105,000 yen - that's £818 at current exchange rates.

For your money you get a copy of the game and a replica of Leon S. Kennedy's leather jacket from the game. Unfortunately it's the leather jacket from Resident Evil 6 though, not the rather more desirable one from Resident Evil 4.

Also included in the set is four special 'covers' featuring main characters Leon, Chris, Jake and another so-far secret design. Unfortunately our Japanese isn't up to the job of discerning what they're actually covers for, but it looks like maybe a mobile phone or similar.

If you are interested the Japanese pre-order page can be found here, although we're not sure it's even possible to order the set from outside of Japan. No special editions have been announced for Resident Evil 6 yet in Europe but we'd be surprised if this offer was repeated here.
Resident Evil 6 had its release date moved forward yesterday to October 2, and the latest info from website NowGamer reveals that playing through all three campaigns could take up to 30 hours.
'The three characters each have their own story and you can choose whichever one you want and play that story, experience that character’s story,' said game director Eiichiro Sasaki.

'In terms of length, each character’s story is a little bit less than Resident Evil 5 but when you combine them together you’re getting something that is much longer. While each character’s story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap. They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don’t have to play them all, of course.'

That much money? :ha!: Thanks Capcom but I think I'll just stick with the regular edition :p

So I looked up the exchange rate from Yen to USD, it would cost just a little under $1300. That to me is way to overpriced for a jacket and four exclusive covers.

Oh, one more thing, I like how it says it's "worth" over that much, not knocking the OP of course, I think it would say better that it's "priced" at that amount. We all know it's not even worth a fraction of what they are selling this for. Sucks to see such a high price.

Yeah I suppose so, I'm the kind of person that would go and buy something like that, but this is a wee bit too much for me hehe.
