RE6 Info

Alright guys just got an email from PSX Extreme and it included some articles already posted up, but then and article about RE6 caught my eye so I'm sharing.
So from the article I got the scheduled release date which is Oct. 6, 2012. The publisher and developer are obviously Capcom. We'll be able to have 1-6 players and its gonna be
an Action/Horror game rather than a Survival/Horror.
Now from the release trailer (Above), it generated an amazing positive reaction and the initial release date of November 2, 2012 was pushed up to October.
Now the iconic franchise was usually a Survival/Horror game, now CAPCOM decided to try and take an Action approach. This does promise more violence, fighting, shooting, etc, but this also made some of the vetern players angry because they felt the series was never meant to be a "run 'n gun," "shoot 'em up" style game.
So onto the nitty and gritty; the real information, that you guys care about. So there are going to be 3 protaganists. Two of which are familiar; Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield. Our 3rd character; Jake Muller may have a new name, but he is actually Albert Wesker's son! So keep an eye on him just in case he flips his wagon like his father. Now each character has their own story to tell and you'll cross all of them throughout the game, but I have the start off point of each of them; Leon starts off in a town called Tall Oaks where a bioterrorist attack has left everyone a zombie, Chris is off in China doing his thing, and Jake is in a fictional town in Europe called Edonia.
Gameplay wise its going to be the same way RE5 was with the cooperative partner system. In the article the author says that he's quite optimistic, but doesn't like the idea of the partner mechnics. I personally loved the partner sytem and thought it worked very well, there were some bugs like the partner getting stuck at certain checkpoints or the partner not helping me in general. All-in-all it worked excellently in RE5.
Next off we have the partners for each player. Leon will be teamed up with U.S. security service agent Helena Harper, Chris will be paired up with sniper Piers Nivians, and Jake brings Sherry Birkin along; the daughter of the Umbrella Corp. scientist William Berkin.
Furthermore, we'll be allowed to pick who we'll start with; Leon, Chris, or Jake. The decision is up to you. Since I'm on the topic of gameplay, it seems Capcom's traditional gaming mechanics are finally proven outdatted, with the new faster and more agressive zombies as seen in RE5. Now with these mechanics players will be allowed to a number of new things, such as; prone, dual-wield, literal run and gun, and even more!
These new elements will surely spice up the series. Now don't think this is it, I still have a few things left like zombies will not only have melee weapons, they will have guns...So watch out and keep on your toes because you'll have to be with these new more intelligent zombies, don't forget to scavenge their ammo when ever you can.
Now to wrap things up Capcom promises users that the traditional style of Resident Evil; a survival/horror style game. Where you can explore every little nook and cranny and keeps you on your toes giving you that feeling of being constantly watched and followed, putting players through an emotional rollercoaster of experiencing addreline, fear, and joy.
This game is shaping up to be a possible game of the year. Hope everyone else sees this potential and enjoyed reading this as much as I did making it .
I'm really stunned to find out that the mystery mercenary was "Albert Jr." I still want to find out if that is Ada Wong in the trailer or is it a new Asian.
