I have come to the problem where I can't update any games...
When I press "X" to update it, my PS3 beeps 3 times, then justs restarts itself.
Does anyone have any ideas/ recommendations as to how to update..
Thanks!
(Note: I recently restored my PS3 system, and it deleted all my settings/ game data/ games/ etc...
)

OFW - on the 4.21 update.
It turns out that I had some corrupted data on my HDD, and apparently that was screwing everything up.
Buuuut, now I can't play games, whenever I try to start a game up (disk or downloaded), my PS3 will freeze.
In some rare cases, the game will play for two or so seconds, then freeze.
It really sucks
My buddy told me to open up my PS3 and remove all the dust, then apply a coolant gel (Arctic Silver 5), but I don't know if I'm brave enough to pop open my PS3, because I fear that I won't be able to put it back together

Going into Safe Mode, I've chosen every option and it still isn't fixed... ._.

Do a full reformat that will fix it!It will take along ass time so dont expect for it to be done in a hour..

It didn't fix, I can tell you that.. Took about 4 hrs

If I were to wipe the HDD, wouldn't that be like the same thing?
My buddy has sent me his HDD, and I'm waiting for it at the moment, but I don't think it'll help.
I'll notify you if it does or it doesn't. :3

All right, so I swapped the drives and the problem still persists. So it's a problem with my console, not the hard drive. Any ideas???
I've been told that it's my lens, but I worry about dissecting my PS3.. If you just happen to have a PS3 dissection kit with all the proper screw drivers that you can send me a link to, that'd be awesome. If not, and I'm sure you don't, don't stress about it ^^
