updating as proof all slims are at risk if not checked. also if any one else checks thier slims if sony did them wrong leave a comment and your ps3's cCECH model to help prove this is real. The ps3 does not give a heat warning over your gpu!





WARNING PS3 SLIMS DO NOT HAVE A THERMAL READING ON YOUR GPU, IT WILL BE DEAD BEFORE YOU BELIEVE IT WITH GLOD. iF YOU DO NOT CHECK YOUR RISKING YOUR PS3 EVEN IF IT PLAYS PERFECT. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE ME GO CHECK HOW MANY 3000 MODELS HAVE ALREADY MADE IT TO EBAY FOR GLOD OR NO VIDEO AND NO SOUND must search for ps3, / broken or for parts or not working/ select model slim and look at all the bad slims descriptions.
This will help so many ppl out before somthing worse to it all happens. i have been buying and selling ps3 slims & phat for a over a year now and have noticed that sony has screwed so many ppl on slims as a way to treat it like crap. your wondering what i might be talking about but i would say 7/10 ppl right now with their slims are risking overheating and GLOD suicide notes from sony. NEW AND OLD SLIMS thermal paste are bad and not even equally spread which causes it to dry, letting no heat pass through your heat sink and will soon cause more trouble.
Out of all the slims i have repaired i have had to do so many thermal paste renews to them. this will help alot of ppl and to save slims from their future deaths of out dated warranty kills.
To help, all you need to really do is simply check and clean your dust, follow up to clean out the old thermal paste and install new thermal paste. mostly try to get arctic silver 5, im only alerting to help prevent so much more from happening. as a idea what i mean, here are some images of ps3 slim's i have that have no life left in them and had the warranty tag still on case before disassembled. right click and open in a new tab to view full size image.

for those who need help, main thing to learn to remove is just the bluray correctly and install it on 2501 and 3001 models and to keep the mother board from direct contact of surfaces. they are almost the same except 3001 have more clips instead of screws in spots. try to keep on flat surfaces and on the top metal part of the casing as a support stand. this helps prevents tiny chips from being damaged or torn off causing ylod on ps3s and more. only wanting to alert and help others with this crappy production sony has sold us and help keeping a ps3 alive.

its no problem, just let me know what CECH model you have and a pic to show how well sony did on your ps3 thermal paste before you clean it all out. C: it should help ppl believe this more.

If I open it up I think there will be more chances for it to break unless I don't touch it at all :y:

opening it will not damage it unless you rip out the bluray and fully take it apart to the motherboard and not handle it like its fragile.

I never really heard of this. But I might check into it, plus if push comes to shove I got a bunch of leftover Arctic Silver Thermal paste. :y:

I think they learned from that mistake with the Fatties... reason why I had to buy a Slim in December was beyond any fix, at home or at Sony...

I have had never problems with mine fatties. Also I love the design more then the slim!

and to make sure you never do get errors, clean the dust and redo the thermal paste every 2 years. safety my friend is better than it hitting you with no warning.

i have considered it to be a risk on all slim models but if its under warranty then no worries, if it is not under warranty or you lost it then its best to do a check up on it asap and after that every 1 1/2 year to 2 years.

only thing sony learned was to make it use less power.. . .. still have issues and when a slim over heats, on 210x models the usb's go bad the most, on 200x, 300x, 2501 no audio / video, worst of all on 300x models the made the fan even smaller!?! 200x - 250x models seem to have bluray laser fails within 2 years, and 200x models seem to have a bluray daughter board malfunction while 250x models no longer communicate with the bluray motors and laser. they are cheap producing these and not even caring how long they last since... well most of you would just go buy another one. its like they let a monkey try and handle all this.
