Post: PS3 not reading disc

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have an original CECHE01 never been opened, factory seal on it. The laser was dead so i got a 100% new replacement, swapped out the drive/deck/laser with the replacement and attached the old board to the system. I am on OFW 3.55(was on KMEAW's 3.55) but decided to flash it back to OFW.

The ps3 takes the disc perfectly and the spindle turns the disc at proper speeds. The laser is correctly functioning, yet my PS3's XMB does not display the game and shows a spinning clock; until the disc drive decides it can not recognize the disc and the clock icon freezes.

The logic board allows me to update/downgrade firmware which means it is also in tact.

I'm totally stumped and have been at this for weeks now, any suggestions are appreciated.

What I have done:
1. Replaced entire bd drive with correct KES-400/KEM-400A
2. Reverted to OFW
3. Recovery Mode System Restore
4. In process of doing a complete HDD format and booting HDD from NOR memory

If I remember properly, the blu ray drive and the circuit board that is on the exterior of the drive must be married to each other. If you replace one of them that doesn't belong to the other, the drive won't work. If this is the case, check out the wiki for the remarry process:

If you can boot into the xmb, you can use a package to get into and out of service mode. Check out:

How would i go about doing that, knowing that you cannot run homebrew withouit a married board. It wouldn't run the pkg to get out of service mode?

A married blu ray board is req'd for running blu ray games...You can run pkg's off of the hard drive just fine...
