August 1, 2008 - Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) kicks off its third annual sponsorship of Lollapalooza, the nation's leading lifestyle concert tour. From August 1-3 in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, the Lollapalooza tour will feature an exclusive chance for music enthusiasts to show off their own talents in new, highly-interactive and hands-on social gaming tents featuring some of the hottest games for PlayStation systems.

During this year's concert series, SCEA will also offer access to one of this year's most anticipated titles, LittleBigPlanet. Set for release exclusively on PS3 in October 2008, the community and creativity-based game LittleBigPlanet, developed by Media Molecule, enables players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots and use their character's amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with others throughout the world via the online PlayStation Network. While at the LittleBigPlanet tent, fans will get a chance to meet and play with performing artist, Brazilian Girls.

The PlayStation "Take the Stage" Tent will also be onsite featuring Rock Band and SingStar. Aspiring artists can either test their skills against rival "rockers" in Rock Band or sing along to their favorite songs on SingStar. Fans can also sign up for Lollapalooza Mindfield (You must login or register to view this content.) and receive texts for twice daily opportunities to show off their music skills to win prizes such as a PlayStation 3, games, entry into the exclusive VIP Lolla Lounge and side-stage viewing access on the PlayStation 3 Stage. In addition, recording artists CSS, Jamie Lidell, Kid Sister, Krista and Tiny Master of Today will be making stops at the Take the Stage Tent to challenge fans with the highest scores.
