Well we have all been waiting for it. A fifth installment to the Metal Gear series.(and no that Rising disaster doesn't count)
Last night for the Metal Gear 25th anniversary Kojima announced Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes, however, much like his previous releases is only releasing little teasers for the public. People who attended the event saw a demo of the game which featured Snake doing what he does best.
This new Metal Gear will be Kojimas first game to run off the new Fox engine and be open world. Reports said that the demo of it was amazing.

AMAZING," followed by "Snake crawled @ avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in heli for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere... Wow."
No time line has been confirmed but it looks like it will be featuring Big Boss/Snake as the main character and what i'm assuming will take place before Peacewalker and after MGS3. That should give us a more in depth look on how "The Patriots" were formed
What is everyones thoughts on this and what do you hope to see out of this new game?

here you go an AMAZING VIDEO.
well with the video being released it is apparent that this takes place after Peacewalker since there is reference to Chico and Paz
its gona be out for ps3 and PC, well hideo said so
At PAX 2012, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima showed off 15 minutes of the first gameplay footage from his upcoming PS3 game. Though running on a PC, Kojima stated that the footage was comparable to what would be seen on the PS3 version of the game.

see thats the only part i dont agree with kojima on. no other studio should do anything to do with Metal Gear. The NES versions werent made by kojima and look at how bad those were compared to the original MSX2 versions.
Yeah just because of how it worked out, Konami owns full rights to the Metal Gear series. Kojima was quoted on those ports and has basically called them "basterized" versions of the MSX2 titles. It's funny that Mythos007 mentioned "Splinter Cell" based on the photo alone, because when I watched the trailer I totally got that vibe. Yes it had Snake crawling and hugging the wall, but the look is very Splinter Cell. To be honest I was actually hoping to see Snake show up in Vietnam (in MGS: Portable Ops, you learn about a war buddy that fought along "Naked Snake" in Vietnam... there is a backstory and everything but I don't want to ruin it for people who haven't played the game).
Now as far as people saying that this game looks too good to run on current gen, first keep in mind we haven't seen any real-time console footage (they said the PC was to spec of a PS3, but that is speaking in very loose terms as I highly doubt there was a PCI-E CELL graphics card in that PC... btw such things do exist, or they did at one point anyway). Second, there are a lot of tricks and methods used in combination in the demo to make it look that way. Will it look similar on the PS3? I'm pretty sure. Also I followed the FOX Engine from an academic standpoint and it was created to support the high-end consoles and mid-range PCs of today, but it was also designed as a base for years to come (i.e., Xbox 720, PS4 and future PC hardware). Also besides the fact that it shows Playstation and Xbox logos at the end of the demo, Sony has confirmed that the game is coming to the PS3. Microsoft's camp has not said anything as of this second and the PC format has not been recognized by KojiPro or Konami, but considering that the FOX Engine was made with the PC platform in mind as well as consoles, I would be very surprised to not see them capitalize on it.
Also Kojima is still not calling this Metal Gear Solid 5, and the rumormill is saying that it's actually a follow-up to Peace Walker (but this could be due to the fact that Peace Walker assets were used to show off the FOX engine earlier on).
If the game actually looks this good come release day, I will be very impressed with the PS3 system as well as Kojima and his team. I believe I died a little watching this video and my life will not be complete until I play this game... lol nah but I will be purchasing this on release date. Believe that.
This will come maybe for PS4 , a PS3 couldn't render something that looks that good.
I think so, the Ps3 hasn't been used to it's full capabilities
The most high-capacity game I think was Kz3, actually taking up the whole 50 GB's of the BluRay's disc.
On subject, that video looks awesome
It would be nice to see a limited edition console come up.
