No Just no, and there is more ram its just not noticed on the top of the system at first glace it's all the more inside, Linux is the based system used for PS3 which gives it more power than a windows pc. Not to mention the release of the 3D library and it running 3D games at 50-60 fps. Don't let the ram fool you if properly programmed minecraft will run a full speed and then some on PS3.

Also PS3 has two sets of ram; 256mb system (XDR) and 256mb video (GDDR3).
