all depends where you get in from most shops were asked to update by sony when 3.55jb came out but a brand new ps3 will be on 3.60+ you will be lucky if you get 1 lower than that. But should you want to jailbreak it you an ex flasher or progskeet and downgrade to 3.55 when ever you want or you can buy a 3.55ps3 jailbreak it put your patches on and update it to 4.25 or just wait for the 4.21jb dongle

I just looked up the firmware list 3.56 didnt come out till like oct december ish so i guess all ps3 made before that are lower??? I dont know

low firmware you have possible... you put buy in ebay ps3 or second hand store.
