Post: How to prevent PS3's from YLOD?

Is there anyway that you can prevent YLOD happening to your PS3?
I have had over 5 PS3's with YLOD ):

And I dont want any comments saying "Buy a Slim.." Phat PS3's are better. And always will be. =D

Just keep it in a cool ventilated place,one thing you check is that when you 1st start ps3 and after 2-4 mins the fan goes very loud then you will get a ylod sometime sooner.The main reason for ylod is because the cheap thermal paste drys up which leads to cracks preventing you to start ps3 hence ylod. Just clean dust out of vents and re apply good thermal paste regularly and you are fine.My launch 20 gig ps3 is still fine today with no ylod!!!

Hurah!
Make sure if you have had it for many years you should remove all the dust by opening your ps3 to avoid overheating/YLOD. You should also change cooling pasta to a better one because the cooling pasta that's already there sucks Winky Winky

Yea and some bolognaise sauce always goes well with 'pasta' so give that a try proper tasty!

Just make sure to keep it in a cool place ps3 are hard to over heat but if u do have it in a hot place u will get the YLOD good luck
