Post: Overheated ps3... help please.?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); yeah i was just playin COD4 and all of a sudden my tv went black and my ps3 started blinking red, and orange. Now i think my ps3 i s overheated and i need to let it cool down. And i know it's not dead becuzz it will be a yellow light instead. So any help would be much appreciated. and for anybody who hepls i will REP.


Problems that might be accuring:

people say that is when your ps3 get cloged up with dust and stops the fan from spinning but my fan works fine.

also playing forever. i only play about 3 hours a day??


Please HELP guys....

Let it cool down for a while. Try and get excess dust out of the vents. Mine did the same thing about a week ago (cut off and blinked red). You should be alright. I would like to mention that this is PS3 number two. I had another one that fried(cpu, gpu). All it would do is blink yellow and beep a couple times. Try and keep your PS3 in a well ventilated area. Also don't keep it on the ground. Ive known some people to keep it on the floor and theres tend to get dirtier easy. Try and do some preventive maintenance on it like keeping dust and debris out of the vents and such.

this happens alot to people, best thing to do is clean the vents, and it will be fine

yes im getting mine back today from the repair shop that had the ylod yellow light of death in other words it overheated and didn't turn back on so if u don't want it to happen if ur system shuts down automatically leave it off for a while that's ur systems way of saying im to hot so don't turn it back on again right away or u will have to send it to a repair shop let it cool down for an hour
