The firmware 4.30 update included an item that was installed to the XMB that you cannot deactivate, hide, or even move it. As well as allowing you to check your Vita trophies. Over 800+ people posted on the EU blog complaining about the new update with the icon. Blog manager of the EU blog has responded to the people saying, "Your feedback has most certainly been noticed and is being carefully considered by the relevant teams. If I have news about future updates, I will of course let you know immediately."

What do you guys think about the 4.30 firmware update?

When will Sony concentrate on stuff we actually want: like in game voice chat, etc?

The PS3 isn't getting cross game chat. Sony even said it wasn't due to the PS3 having low ram.

You use two different Firmwares here as much as we would love 3.40 to install over 4.20 or even 4.30 it won't.
On Topic I guess I just didn't care about it.

i hate the new singstar icon you should be able to fucking delete t or hide it, it takes up a spot in my applications and it looks bad

I think these updates Sony are adding are just making the console worse in my opinion. It's been ages since us PS3 users have had a decent game update. 4.30 like all the other 4.xx updates are useless. I only keep my PS3 up to date so I can sync my trophies, play with friends online and use the PS Store.

Sony seem to be ignoring the fans and just do what they want. For some reason, this seems to be a trend with Japanese companies. Similar case with Polyphony Digital with Gran Turismo. We don't have full customisation, better engine sounds or fully detailed interior views for all the cars.

I just hope Sony start listening to the players before they do a software update. It doesn't take that long to have a few members of staff browse the numerous PlayStation forums to see what suggestions they should implement.

Another thing which I don't like about this 4.30 update is this Singstar icon on the XMB which we can't remove. Hopefully that get's patched quickly so we can have the option of removing it from the XMB.

Thing that annoys me about these updates not much sony can add that i want.....without redoing the whole of PSN.
Hope they are making a list of things to add to the PS4 as standard.

One thing that has shocked me is singstar being free.

I hate how they moved the trophy icon thing now if i want to see what trophie im missing i have to quit the game to see.
