(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey Guys!

I really want to get a PS3 on 3.55 and put custom firmware and host modded lobbies, etc. I was wondering should I get a fat one or slim? The fat ones can get YLOD I know but what about this one?

It is a 60GB Backwards Compatible that has 4 USB and has been reballed! Do you think this is a good deal? It's a really nice looking one too! Winky Winky

that ps3 is great, it has been reballed with led solders so it should last for a long time, sony uses led free solders thats why the ps3 gets ylod so easy, with led solders apparently it wont get ylod for atleast 3 years and in 3 years from now the ps4 will probably be out, i saw that one on ebay too :fa:

Its alright in my opinion....If you want to prevent YOLD keep your PS3 dust free. I have the original playstation 3 to this day fully working. Just kept it clean

IMO you'd be better off getting a basic ps3 with no BC. when you have a 3.55 machine, you want it to work for as long as possible, because they aren't cheap to buy. if you're just going to be hosting lobbies, all you want to use it for is data transfers. so, the less you use it, the longer it'll last. buying one with bc is just a waste of money. try to find a cheap 40 gig fat or 120 gig slim.
i bought mine earlier this year and it shit itself a couple of months ago. i had the motherboard replace and that cost me $200. it had been re-balled before i bought it.
problem is, i was using it as a media center ps3 in my bedroom as well as data transferring with it. now, the only time it even gets plugged in, is when i want to transfer a new patch.

*edit*
check this one out...

Okay thanks everyone! I'm still thinking whether to get the 60GB since it looks really nice! But the slim is tempting too! Also the slim is brand new! But as you said this will last at least 3 years is really tempting still deciding what to get! Happy
