If you still haven't got one I would definitely go for the PX5! I just got them 2 weeks ago and they are amazing! I actually got them on Amazon for $150, $100 less than retail but unfortunately they've gone up now but still they're only $199. So if you are willing to spend a little more to gain a lot I would go with them.
Pros:
-Wireless (I broke my PX21s by tripping on the cord which slammed them to the floor)
-Bluetooth built in (If you're on the PS3 then the chat is also wireless. Also this allows you to stream music to the headphones over bluetooth while playing and it also allows you to take calls through the headphones and microphone while playing.)
-Customizeable Presets (You can pick from 9 different Presets I believe or customize your own to make certain sounds louder..like footsteps)
-7.1 Surround Sound (We know 7.1 isn't technically possible but you definitely still get the "7.1 Surround Sound" experience with these headphones)
-Great Bass (Explosions are much more realistic)
-Removeable Mic (If the mic is getting in your way you can simply pull it out to remove it temporarily)
-Chat Adjustment (You can easily raise or lower the chat volume in the headphones)
Cons:
-Battery Life (Because it's wireless it does take batteries. It takes 2 AA's..honestly I only got about 2 weeks out of the ones that came with it but I was also playing for several hours everyday. Now I have some high capacity rechargeable batteries and so far they're doing good)
-Stand has to be in view (The wireless receiver must be in view of the headphones in order to get the sound with no interruption. If you try hiding it behind your tv you may experience some unwanted static.)
Hopefully this helped some. So far I've loved these headphones and they're definitely worth the money in my opinion!
EDIT: Just read that you did decide on another set. Oh well, maybe this will help someone else out that reads it.
good write up, rechargable batteries are a must the headset lasts so long with them, also my stands out of sight and its fine lol
its also got 8 or more programmable presets, and you can update the headset to keep it up to date with the latest software.
