No Josh what you say is impossible because you'll be installing the drive in a different system (PS3).
What i say is to dupe my old hdd on a new hdd and put it in the same system, so all the info are carried over.
I know that this procedure works but i've heard of problems with disk size because cloning... means cloning everything, also the filesystem info.
eg: cloning an old 60gb on a new 500gb will end up with the ps3 "seeing" a new big 500gb but reports the free space of the old drive, like if we did a 60gb partition on the 500gb drive.
The problem is to resize the partition of the new disk, but the fileformat is sony proprietary,
so i would like to know if there is actually any working method to do this
