Even new generation gamers know of this console and probably have owned one, but for all the veterns, such as myself, you guys know this is the end of an incredible era in gaming.

This console has been around for 12 years now and has met its end with the Ps4 and 720 on the way and it had a amazing run. The Ps2 has sold over 155 million units in its time in existence (Last recordation: March 2012), worldwide. It has also accumulated over 20,000 new titles and franchises, alongside the classic XBox.



The PlayStation 2 was also the first console to introduce the use of cameras integrated into gaming and also the first to put gamers head-to-head online. Ps2s may have had their flaws, but they truly were a one-of-a-kind system. With the usage of Grand Theft Auto to Final Fantasy and Madden to Crash Bandicoot. The PlayStation 2 was pushed to its absolute limit, earning its place on the wall of fame as probably the most remembered console of the gaming community.



I for one loved the ps2 and owned 6. All of which I still have packed away, for my children. How about you guys? Have any old ps2s laying around? Or any other old consoles? Only 155million? Wrong section? R.I.P PS2

Thanks for pointing that out. Over 155.1 million units have been sold in the 12 year period (Mar 2012) and yeah, I accidently dropped this in the wrong section.

I might've been an xbox taker if it weren't for the amazing Grab Turismo series. RiP PS2. I've still got one of my original PS2 in a closet with the network adapter and tons of bells and whistles. I guess its time to let the thing go.

I got one when I was just a little kid. I remember me and my dad going to buy a fat one at Target for $250. We got two games that day, a ATV one and a Spongebob one. I had so much fun on that thing. Now I wish my mom didn't give it away.

The PlayStation 2 will definitely be remembered by all gamers alike, whether from this generation to the most hardcore veteran gamers alike, the ps2 will definitely leave a great gaming legacy behind & remain as one of the best selling systems of all time with its expansive library.

II've been a PlayStation fan since 1998 & still am tilll this day, it will truly be missed, but as long as I have mine around, it wont be so bad, even with a backwards compatible ps3.

i got 3 ps2s two are softmodded one is retail its a good console with a good Library of Games
