Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has just got fined £250,000 for their irresponsible protection(or lack of) during the 2011 hacking of PSN where personal information was taken by the attackers. Sony is crying that they were a "victim" but can't seem to understand that when you have someone's personal and private data, you keep it safe. Not only do you do that but you, at least, TELL THEM YOU'VE FAILED! Not hide it away and try to fix it, while hoping nobody notices.

Now I know that corporations have IT departments almost specifically exclusive to make in house software, security and to take care of situations like these. I'm sure there are many attacks like this every month, its the fact that these ones got to the public and they need to be made an example from, that security should be TOP priority and should increased all the time. Which Sony has done.

Well as nice as I made the title sound, this really isn't a huge blow to Sony at all but after their hourly attempts to ban people, I thinks this is a little f*** you to corporations. Sony and other companies have billions and a quarter million isn't really that bad but it's the message that is sent that is the real prize. Sadly though, this is only going to make Sony and others more private and teach them not to get caught so who knows if they really care. One thing is for certain, there reputation sure took a hit April 2011 day.

Tell me what you think of it all!

{P.S.} The stupid source says that :love:GeoHotz:love: hacked PSN, which is not true. He only hacked the ps3 hardware/software, whoever hacked the network to this day remains ANONYMOUS. Happy
