(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I dont see the problem with changing your PSN . I'd gladly pay 5-10 to change my name. Maybe its an internal problem, I'm sure I just thought It wouldnt be too much trouble what do you guys think?

I guess Sony just didn't want to go through the effort, it might be something to do with the servers or data. I personally prefer PSN to Xbox Live simply for the free service, but with Xbox you are paying for the better online gaming experience.
But i agree with you, it doesn't seem to be that hard but I've never made a console so i wouldn't know :P

Apparently you can change your name with a Japanese account as much as you want. I don't understand Sony's logic in name changing being a Japanese account exclusive. :\

for once someone says better service not better online connection. i hate people gassing its better online connection when its exactly the same xD except you pay for better moderation i suppose. its so easy to get banned on xbl to psn

You can only change your display name... the PSN ID name (account name) is still the same.

No one.. not even people with Japanese accounts are allowed to change their account name. However they do have the ability of changing their display name which in all honesty is stupid.

If I were to guess it's because they don't release inactive usernames like Xbox does every now and then. So there isn't a real supply of inactive names to use. Plus it requires them to completely revamp their online services to support it. And then making sure people can make changes to their user id in their database.

Long story short, it's too late in terms of PS3 years to do it. And it would cost them a fuck ton because they'd need PSN to down the entire time.

It's reasonable for Xbox gamers as they are paying for their service. We are getting free connection so there really shouldn't be a reason for us to complain about name changes. Although it is something all of us thrive for, it most likely will not happen.

However, like you said, I hope they do consider it in the future for the PS4.

The following user groaned Harlem Shake for this awful post:
