Steps/Procedure
1. Take the that movie you want to watch & put it in your computer's disc drive.
2. Bypass the copy-protection (if there's any) using whichever program you use.
3. Open the ripping/burning software you have on your computer. Anything that could make a straight copy of the movie will do.
4. Once the movie is done copying, take it out & put in the blank DVD.
5. Use the ripping/burning software to copy the movie to the blank disc
6. Put the previously blank disc in your PS3. It should now play without any problems.

Note: You need a decent computer to do this. Also, if you're copying a blu-ray movie & plan on keeping it on your HDD, You might want to transcode the files.

Sure PS3 IS region free, you can play any region on it.

The games are. DVDs aren't

Edit: Sorry, had to correct myself. The PS3 isn't region free. It just plays games from any region. It doesn't play movies from any region.

i had no probs to see us or uk dvds and blu-rays on my jp and us ps3.

Some movies are region free. I tried to play a Chinese DVD on my US PS3 but all I got was a black screen. After I did this, the DVD played fine.

Blurays are region free, Dvd's dont. I'm in zone 4 so i cant see dvd from others zone. :S
