Minecraft for the Xbox 360 is a hot title. The game has sold extremely well when it comes to Xbox Live activity. But PS3 and Wii U owners have had to sit and wait when will they get a turn to play Minecraft on PS3 & Wii U

Speaking to iGamer's Jens Bergensten, Minecraft Pocket's lead designer said, “Microsoft has an exclusivity deal for consoles". When it runs out we’ll consider Minecraft for PlayStation, but Wii U is unlikely.”

It is currently unknown how long the Microsoft Minecraft exclusivity deal is. Guessing from previous exclusivity deals made by Microsoft and other publishers, it shouldn’t be much longer. The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft aimed to recreate the PC title on Microsoft’s platform, and Mojang did a pretty fantastic job. Bringing the title to the PS3 or PS4 would expand the audience even more.

The lack of Wii U support is sad, but not all that surprising. Crytek revealed that a lack of business drive caused Crysis 3 to miss the Wii U, and is most likely the reason why Minecraft will also skip the platform.

I really hope Minecraft does come to the PS3. I don't like PC gaming much so it would be quite a cool thing if it did come to the PS3.
