There are tons of threads on this already, but to answer your question a capture card. I recommend EasyCap or Dazzle. EasyCap is cheaper and more compact, and its what I have. Dazzle supposedly can capture higher quality video which I find to be untrue, and you can set the resolution on easycap up to 720x552 (which I beleive is HD quality).

Nope, doesn't work that way. The Yellow/White/Red component cables plug into the TV, then from the monitor out you plug more component cables in and the other end goes to your capture card, which plugs into your computer. You record it on your computer.
