(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am just getting waxed in this game. I try sniping and hanging back at the spawn and I'm pwn'd. I try running and gunning and I'm pwn'd. I can't do anything. The last match that I played I was 1-13. The game before that I had 4-11. I can't get any kills.

can anyone help me out and give me some pointers?

After playing MAG for a couple of day, and reading the posts here in the posts I have come to some conclusions. I feel the pain for those of us (yes, me included) that are not that happy with the game. I was pretty upset with it but I am hanging in their and just trying to learn the maps and weapons better. One thing that became clear in MAG is that it will become a campers/snipers haven. The maps are HUGE and long shots are everywhere. In one aspect I think the developers were trying to create a real combat game rather than an arcade shooter. In some ways they succeeded and in other ways they, well rather than say failed, I will say need improvement.

Team work is supposed to be the heart of this game. Unfortunately most of the players are not doing that at this stage. Most of the time everyone is trying to figure out everything and/or doing things on their own. I bet any "clan" that actually does do things like the game was made for will make havoc with everyone. And as several of you mentioned the kid from MW2 coming over to MAG and play that style (run/gun) is going to wind up spending a LOT of time re-spawning. With that in mind here is what I see so far....(my opinion only)

1. Re-spawn takes way too much time. Worst yet it only re-spawns from specific points. Your squad can get trapped in a spawn kill. You definitely need to change spawn sites when that happens or get reinforcements fast. Also, most of the action is like 1/2 mile from your spawn and it takes a while to run back. At least it seems like 1/2 mile.

2. Run & gun and expect to be killed 5 times as often as MW2. I sort of made up the "5 times" but you get the point. It also takes you back to number 1 above.

3 The PMC you join has different weapons! I have not tried Valor yet so I have no opinion on it EXCEPT I felt a lot of MW2 players would pick it. I started out with Raven with the high tech weapons and black outfits. Biggest problems with them is you are easy to see in cover and the weapons lack stopping power! I then used another account and tried S.V.E.R. and have become to like it. The weapons are much more powerful than Raven and you can hide in the bush with the camo. I am a sniper at heart, I cannot run/gun even in MW2 that well. I still feel accuracy is a bit off but I don't have some of the better attachments yet.

3. The point system takes forever to get perks! You level up a whole level and only get 1 point (what's that name, for upgrading weapons.) It took me all day to get 6 points to buy stuff.

4. About the medical kit. Good luck using it to help your team. Unless you are basically run/gun how else are you going to use it? If you snipe, by the time you get to them they have bleed out, not to mention you are going to take a bullet or two.

5. Teamwork has not been happening in ANY of the squads I have played to date. That would help a lot. One problem with this is you need a team that assigns everyone a task. It fail because most kids do not want to be, say, a medic; they want to shoot as many people possible.

Well, that's my take on my short 2 or 3 days play time on MAG. I will keep camping for now. If all else I always have "Big Little Planet" and the paintonater.

Cheers!

Ok, well I bought a few grips and what a difference that makes. I actually GET kills now.

I ended up buying the grip on the machine gun and the sniper rifle. the grips are the first thing I'd purchase again. I think you need to buy one thing from the first tier before you can get the next. I'd buy the reload so you can unlock the grips without costing you too many points.

I'm starting to get the hang of this game and liking it a lot more than I was yesterday. Happy

I appreciate all the feedback in this thread as well as the tips

MAG and COD Are Two Entirely Different Games, On CoD You Can Kill Solo And Do Well. But If You Dont Work In A Team On MAG You'll Do Shit.

I Really Like MAG, But Too Many People Are Obsessed With CoD They Cant Seem To Intake a Different FPS.

Anyways. Always Have The Medic Thing, with fast healing. And Aleast The Mid Armour.
And well done for actually giving the game some time and not judging it the first few hours Smile

Dude, most of the people that hate this game are COMPLETE GARBAGE AT IT. Yet, I see two common denominators with these people based on forums and game play.

1. A lot of them come from COD and COD only. They are used to a game that has auto-aim and think they are good gamers because they play a game that requires no skill. Then, when they switch to other games that require skill, they suck at it, call it garbage, and go back to COD. It's not their fault, either. It's Activision's fault, so don't hold it against them.

2. They are stupid when it comes to tactics or tactical awareness. I will watch a guy do the same damn thing over and over and over and over again, with no success. Then he will get mad and quit, or send me hate mail about camping him. I mowed down an entire squad to start the game last week. And they all came right back in the same exact pattern and fashion again for a second helping! None of them even injured me the first time, did they really expect to get me the second time without changing it up at least a little?

So, like someone said earlier. This is NOT COD! This game also takes some learning. These are big maps with lots of players. My suggestion would be to learn a game mode at a time. I have been playing this game for a few months now, and I still have to check my bearings sometimes to see just where exactly I'm at on the map.

Also, the other guy was right about the LMG. All you need is a grip, reflex sight, ant the improved stability and you're good to go. Sniping isn't really going to take you anywhere on this game just yet. I take out snipers with every gun except the pistol no matter how far they are from me.

First learn the maps. Then learn where spawn points are so you know where they will be coming from. Then try and weasel some secrets out of the wily veterans if you can.

Just don't be the guy that goes back to COD because you think you're good at a game with auto-aim, magnetic grenades, and kill streak rewards. I've never had below a 3.00 on those games and I still think they're trash. Just stick it out with MAG and you will probably learn to love it.
