Honestly, I don't think a CFW will ever be released. Sure you will get small releases like exploits and such, but nothing big like a full jailbreak.

There already is a CFW. If you have Brazilian Jailbreak and the Dev kit. You're set. Even for modding.

I would personally wouldn't be surprised if 2020 rolled along n we finally got cfw. Ps4 is only what 3 years old. Sony has locked the console down a little bit more then the ps3 so I doubt you Will see cfw or a full jailbreak at the end of this year.

Ps3 was released in 2006/2007

2011/ 2012 was when the ps3 had functional jailbreak. So being as that's close to 6 years I can't see a newer system getting a cfw in half the time as it's predecessor

A CFW isn't really needed. You can get unsigned code (homebrew) running without custom firmware, in-fact that's what happened on 1.76.

Thank You for the first bit of logic in the topic .... As far as CFW its already made and is easily able to make and edit , as far as getting online passed the server checks etc is more of a difficult task. Modding for the ps4 will most likely take a different a different turn for the ps4 as it will probably be able to done with something as api calls on ofw and wont be done through cfw at all... its more of a homebrew prototype adjustable system and modding on a cfw would be more complicated and would come with more future complications ... its possible to mod on both but ofw modding and ofw console dash modifications are even possible with the right permission ... all of its already started and could be released whenever upon decision of the people who have done it ... but ofw modding and exploits will be done and released before a successful cfw that is able to pass online and is worthy of putting on your system ... this being said patience is the key
