I wouldn't want to imagine what would happen if the Xbox One did something similar..
ok i agree with you on the forgetting part also...... (hint-hint) Sony had its yold too lol. with that being said it was an error on the engineering team from both consoles. that is what happens when you try to make something cheap enough to please the masses. i blew through 3 Xbox's and stopped after that. i just stuck to Sony's ps3 and continue to use mine everyday, mostly for youtube, netflix maybe a free game from PS+ since their isnt really anything out right now i want to play.
i love my PlayStation and will continue to do so, i like the direction Sony has been going down since around 2010-11 time-frame. i love their 1st party support and indie friendly support also. i play more indie and small arcade games now because of it. Sony gave us their vision for the future of PlayStation as M$ gave us their vision for the future of Xbox. i am choosing PS4 at the present time because of what they have shown us and what they have said. they told me this new gen is about gamers specifically hardcore gamers. well it seems only right i stay with them because they are targeting my demographic. i am their target choice.
that's not to say M$ is not a bad choice either. a lot of people are claiming Xbox is finished because of the used games thing, don't believe the hype surrounding the topic. people are very loyal and have 10 years invested with them. everyone is going to complain about new tech and we all seen this coming but most didn't want to believe a company is out with the sole purpose to make money. with out money their is no gaming period. nothing is truly free. with that said who is to say Sony doesn't have the same system in place. their is a high probability that this is the case. they stated just like M$ it will play used games but there is more info about it later at E3. that should speak volumes in itself. EA didn't stop their passes across all platforms for nothing.... there was a reason.
M$ direction with Xbox is pretty sweet. people have to be very stubborn, blind or just a plain troll to say otherwise. they are pushing game consoles in a great direction considering what XO has the ability to do. that's not saying i want it because i truly don't. i really don't have a need for that type of system. i have all those things already and i don't want another device to do it on. i personally just want a system for games and a few small apps. M$ is testing the waters with next gen and that's great, they have the disposable income. they are trying things like cloud gaming. im sure sometime within this new generation those 300k servers are what your going to store and play your game directly from. do you really think 300k servers are for online gaming? LMAO, those servers were bought for the cloud.
we don't advance in tech unless we are willing to lose money, you need to take a risk with new ideas. i heard the all in one system was already tried in the past and failed with a different company, well thats all fine and dandy but its now 2013 and times have changed. apple plowed the road for what we are seeing now. there is always evolution in everything. try new things or rehashed things and hope its what sells, if it does build from it. not saying Sony isn't taking any risks, they did last gen and paid dearly with "CELL". now its Xbox's turn to push tech. its a cycle.
i say good luck to both companies, if your a Xbox fan great if a Sony great. it doesn't affect me in the slightest way. only time it does is when i play an online game and have to listen to a 10year old talking about how hes a mac and gots all da hoes with his 16 inch weewee lol. yet sounds like a mouse that got his tail stepped on after he just got knifed in gunfight.
