A key feature to me is the reliability of the games on said consoles (* note I have not watched E3 coverage; I plan to later tonight), rumor had it Micro$oft was going to have dedicated servers for all MP games. I like that idea to a certain degree, each game should offer a p2p mode and a dedicated server *some people may have a shitty connection to certain locations, seeing as companies do not always have servers spread out*. If it is true and with M$ increasing their servers 20 fold, I give them a point.
I really wish Sony would add more perks to PS+ or make another version and increase the price a bit and follow suit with increasing servers and looking into dedicated servers for the game. The new version of PS+ could include 5-10% off all content ( with 5% being the min for everything); maybe give this new PS+ version early access to new games and content.. I want Sony's online experience to be on par with M$'s.
^That's all my opinion, on minimal information at the moment. I will update after watching the conferences and what not.
Reliability of games will be pretty much on par across both consoles now that Sony has gone for the x86 platform setup, i was gunna say its not even down to exclusives anymore as most companies have jumped ship and boarded the multi-platform train, Bungie is now making games for Sony even thoughn they were exclusively microsoft, as with the switch with Square-enix being Sony exclusive now makes games for Xbox, to be honest, the better exclusives are with Sony at the moment (Uncharted being the one that springs to mind first). For me this console war will be down to what the consoles can offer beyond gaming exclusives, it'll be about content, and specifications on the consoles themselves and getting more game developers on board to release new games faster.
I'm sure Sony will up its game later with adding dedicated servers.
