(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); PSN's online features are still free, the only thing you need PS+ for is multiplayer games, such as Call of Duty, Watch Dogs, etc..

It's only $5 a month, if you can't afford that then you can't afford a PS4.

It's not that much, and personally it will help SONY improve their online services.

Not really, think about it this way.

PS+ for a year about £30, you get free games every month, including at least 1 A+ rated game, you get discounts on the PSN Store, free content for some games, beta accesses and other free goodies.

It's not that I can't afford it, it's just stupid And as of the free content goodies, I never had PS+ so I don't really know what the features are.

Correct me if im wrong, but you can use a $10 playstation card to buy playstation plus right?

Also helps get rid of online modding, nobody wants to pay $50+ a year for accounts to get banned. Happy

Fact is, this was a foreseeable and VERY intelligent move on Sony's part. It allowed them to sell a cheaper console, entice more users with free games, and get solid revenue for the next 10 years. VERY smart and I congratulate them for the decision.

I personally think this was a good move by Sony. It helps them generate some income while keeping it cheaper then the competitors $60 a year. It won't bother me much as it's much much cheaper then Xbox Live Gold.

Actually, it is one of Sony smartest ideas. Think about this for a second. Sony, in the end, wants to make money. That is the whole point of starting a business, is to make money. Sure you help people out, but if your not losing money, you might as well make money. Sony is going to sell the PS4 at a loss. That I can guarantee. They know they have millions of customers who play online. They also know that about 95% of those people are willing to pay $60 a year to play online. It is a genius marketing ploy by Sony, and although many people don't like it, they need to break even. It is actually as simple as that.

Personally I don't mind as I am already a PS+ member and have been since it was rolled out.

If PlayStation Plus wasn't such a good value for money service I would say this were a bad move. I just hope that PS+ doesn't slip with the Instant Game Collection now that a lot more people will be buying it...
