What're your thoughts on having to be a PS+ subscriber for online play?

I think that it's a bit much, seeing as we're already spending so much on the console itself. I'm probably going to stick with the PS3 until something really pulls me to the new console.

if you have never had ps+ I can see those people getting mad about having to pay

but if your already a member I don't see the big deal I haven't met anyone that has canceled there membership.

the value you get from the service is more then what you payout I don't see why everyone doesn't already have one

This does make sense, but when I had money, bought PS+ but no flowing income for discounts and stuff, I leeched off of PS+ and what they had for free but I regret spending money on it.

PS+ is nice, yes, but if you're a kid (which most of us are) who don't have a way to take advantage of all the discounts coming with it, I can see why this would be a burden. Of course unless you have a parent you buys you everything.

However - If you love playing online then this should be a good deal, I suppose. But I just like playing online for free (not including the cost for internet/streaming/etc).

But I see where you're coming from. Smile

If you can afford a $400 console and $60 games, you can also afford $5 a month for the service.

I am error
I just recently renewed my PS+ and just for the games alone its worth it, with regards to paying for the service on PS4 don't mind at all, this also in turn might give Sony the opportunity to improve on their servers and a much better gaming experience.

You get amazing free games with it every month so I don't know what's to complain about. Battlefield 3 and Saints Row 3 were last month, Mafia II, Spec Ops: The Line, Need for Speed Most Wanted were this month so you're getting around thirty great games a year for the price of €50. They can't afford to not charge for online play, it's the way things have to be and the way they will be from now on. If you're a kid get PS+ for Christmas or beg mammy and daddy to buy it for you. Otherwise get a fucking job and stop bumming off your parents if you're 16 or over.

Thats not a good reason to not buy. a cheap service thats well worth more than the money you spend for it. i would still wait a month or a year for them to get the bugs out.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean you have to sacrifice one game a year to ultimately have a better console.
