I heard that there not compatible because of some copyright protection crap and theres no component input only hdmi or something like that.

All i know is the HDPVRs will work with xbox1 and ps4 as they went to sony and microsofts conference and asked

There is no component cables so no Hauppauge HDPVR's will not work. I would say anyhing that used HDMI will more then likely work, but you can't be sure yet.
